A fun fact: it turns out that we have local AI models largely thanks to a Bulgarian.

Georgi Gerganov (https://x.com/ggerganov) created GGUF and llama.cpp, which essentially enabled the whole local LLM revolution: Ollama, OpenClaw, and pretty much every other project you can think of.

Without quantization, a model like Llama 3 70B would require well over 140 GB of memory in FP16.

A quantized GGUF version can run with several times less RAM.
