I've been wanting to bring Vesper to life in video for a long time, but as someone with basically zero video editing experience, the process always felt intimidating.
This was my first project using
@openart_ai Director, and honestly, it kind of changed the way I think about creating videos.
Instead of building everything shot by shot, I found myself having conversations with Director about the story, the characters, the pacing, the atmosphere, and the moments I wanted to create. If something didn't feel right, we'd adjust it together until it matched the vision in my head.
I keep describing it as vibe directing because that's genuinely what it feels like. You're not just prompting. You're having a conversation and directing the vibe of the story until it feels right.
For this project, I got to drop Vesper into a nightclub as reality slips into Limbo, introduce The Butcher, summon a horde of Stygians, and finally give her that classic Vesper attitude problem.
What impressed me most wasn't just the visuals. Director handled the characters, environments, music, sound effects, voices, and story structure all in one place. I could even ask for suggestions on shots, pacing, camera angles, or scene ideas when I wasn't sure what would work best.
This end result isn't quite perfect, and I could have kept refining it for a while longer. But after just a couple hours with the tool, I found myself creating things I genuinely didn't think I'd be able to make on my own, and that's pretty exciting.
The more I used it, the more it stopped feeling like prompting and started feeling like vibe directing. I'd describe an idea, react to what came back, and keep refining the vibe until the scene matched what I had in my head.
Needless to say, I had a lot of fun with this one.
And yes... I've already started two more projects. 🖤
